*Dancing Mare Ranch

The “Dancing Mare” is a small ranch located in the heart of the Texas Hill Country. Our objective is to produce Arabian and half-Arabian English performance horses.  The basis of this breeding program is our foundation mare, Harlequin Afire.  She has been bred to purebred Arabian and Saddlebred stallions which were selected to optimize her potential to produce beautiful athletes with willing and winning attitudes. Her foals have all been beautiful and each has the spirit and action of their sire and dam.  Harlequin’s first foal, A Polonaise, started in the show ring in the winter of 2006.

We are fortunate to have good breeding facilities nearby and have been able to take advantage of the embryo transfer procedures to obtain several foals a year from Harlequin. Each foal is handled from birth so they are very people oriented.The rolling terrain affords our babies the opportunity to develop strong bones and muscles.  Our horses spend most of their time in pastures with one or two others so that they are able to socialize with a low risk of injury.
